Recently VLS Technologies has arrived in Linguadoca as well with the UNICO filter, a technology which allows to filter the entire product (wine and lees) with just one machine: the customer the filter has been supplied to uses the section with organic membranes to filter red and white wines and the section with Stainless Steel membranes to filter tanks’ bottoms and fresh lees.
A great advantage, mainly for the small and medium producers which showed great appreciation for the UNICO filter; this technology was given the “Innovation challenge” award to the SIMEI exhibition in 2017.
The Linguadoca is French area with a strong vocation for wine located to the East of the the Languedoc- Rousillon region; it is recognized as AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée), characterized by a mainly plain territory and famous for the production of various types of wines such as the Vin Doux Naturels, especially the ones produced with Moscato grapes. To be able to comprehend the importance of Languedoc-Roussillon in French oenology, it will suffice to say that over a third of the wine produced in France yearly comes from this region.
