A new wine press in Corsica fo a wine cooperative of the AOC region

Case studies / December 2017

Thanks to the partnership with Montier Technologies, a distributor specialized in supplying turn key solutions for wineries, a new VLS wine press was delivered in Corsica in the AOC (Appellation Corse contrôlée) area to the winery “Le Cave Saint Antoine”.

VLS has supplied a series of vats and transportation belt together with the wine press with closed drum (PSC-250) completed with PLC for automatic control and handling all the pressing and washing phases.

The winery has more than 400 Hectars of vines placed in the Eastern plains, near to Ghisonaccia. It was founded in 1975 by the winemakers of the Saint Antoine hills to save the wine reserves of the island and the traditional types of vines; these vines provide the wines with its characteristic flavour and they adapted to the Corsican soil. In the last years the winery has updated its infrastructure by building a new premise dedicated to the bottling line and increasing the storing capacity thanks to new tanks.

VLS Technologies is present and supply its products in Corsica thanks to the partnership with Montier Technologies, an hystorical brand on the supply of technologies and complete solutions for the wine sector. To date VLS, apart from the press 250 hl, has supplied several medium-size presses (PSA-30, PSC-50 e PSC-80), a DE filter with vertical leaves for sparkling wine filtration (FVV-5 PED tested, a news for Corsica which is just starting to produce some sparkling wine) and for the next harvest the first Lees Stop filter will also be dispatched.
