A 100 hl press for the distillate market in Bolivia

Case studies / December 2016

Our local distributor Velo Argentina supplied a 100hl press to the Bolivian Company Casa Real. This is an important goal for VLS Technologies; apart from entering a new country in the distillates’ market, VLS seals a partnership with a niche producer.

The market of distillates in Bolivia is growing fast thanks to the local production which is making a name for itself among the connoisseur. Even the Washington Post wrote about it at the beginning of the year in an article called “The absolutely delicious Bolivian spirit all drinkers need to know”: that is about Singani, a distillate which originate from wine production of part of Bolivia. The combination of method and soil makes this product special. To be classified as “Singani” the distillate must be produced only from Moscato d’Alessandria which is cultivated only in some limited areas of the Bolivian Andes at very high altitude. The product will have to be distilled at altitude as well so the boiling point will decrease to preserve aromas during the process.

The partnership with Casa Real is only one example of the collaborations VLS Technologies started with distillates producers. Among the cases we are proud of having supplied Bacardi of a ASME certified pressure filter; a project that has been realized together with the VLS distributor for the area. In the South American distillates market VLS is also present in Perù with an important supply of innovative high-performing stabilization plants to some local rum producers.
